A CAMPAIGN TO END SLAUGHTER ONCE AND FOR ALL.

Every year, more than 20,000 American horses—
wild and domestic—are shipped across our borders to be slaughtered for human consumption.

These are not broken or unwanted animals. They are racehorses, mustangs, lesson ponies, show jumpers. Pregnant mares. Newborn foals. Proud stallions.

Horses who once ran free, carried children, and brought healing.

Their final journeys are not ones of love or gratitude. They are filled by fear, neglect, and betrayal—made possible by a loophole in federal law.

We call them The Lost Horses.
And it’s time to stop the pipeline.

BREAKING NEWS

On Friday, May 22nd the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee advanced critical protections for America’s horses by passing language to prohibit the transport of equines destined for slaughter for human consumption.

This marks one of the most significant federal steps forward in decades toward ending the slaughter pipeline that sends tens of thousands of American horses across U.S. borders every year.
